Service Procedures for Boilers

Booking your boiler service is the first step. Get in touch with us to schedule an appointment that works for you.

An engineer will arrive at your house and present their Gas Safe ID at the booked time and date.

Casing, Seals & Connections

The service begins with inspecting the Boiler’s exterior for leaks and corrosion. Following the removal of the case, the inside is inspected. Corrosion is a sign of a leak. Seals and connections are then inspected.

Checks are conducted on the seals, valves, and pipes for leaks, wear, and tightness. Seals that are too loose are tightened or replaced if broken.

The service includes cleaning all internal components. As a result, all working components can be tested accurately.

Testing of pressure

A pressure test is performed on the Boiler to ensure it is at the correct level. If there is too much or too little, the pressure is adjusted accordingly. After that, the boilers fired up. As long as the pressure remains constant, everything is fine. Deflation of pressure indicates leaks or blockages. Further investigation will be conducted in this case.

Measuring The Gas Rate

Cleaning and testing the gas burner is the next step. A burner adjustment is made if required. The engineer will then perform a gas rate check. This test aims to verify that the correct amount of Gas is burned per hour to ensure your Gas is not burnt excessively or inefficiently.

Flue Inspection & Testing

All undesirable waste gases-flue- must be expelled through the flue for correct ventilation. Therefore, a flue gas analyzer is placed inside the flue. As the boilers running, oxygen, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide are measured by the device.

With this test, you can be assured that your Boiler and flues are safe and not a carbon monoxide risk and that all toxic gases have been removed effectively.

Furthermore, your engineer will check that the Boilers are receiving the right amount of oxygen, which is ten cubic meters of air for each cubic meter of Gas.

The engineer will conduct a final check to ensure no gas is leaking within and around the Boiler. Once the service is completed, you can rest assured that your boilers will run efficiently and safely.

Following the service

As soon as the Boiler is ready, the engineer switches it on and checks that your radiators are heating correctly. Your radiators will be bled if necessary, ensuring that every room is optimally heated.

You may receive some recommendations from the engineer on how to maximize the efficiency of your central heating system. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask the engineer.
