Boiler Servicing
We service all kinds of Boiler, which include:
- Gas
- Electric
- Oil
- Combi
- System
- Regular
Boilers we service include those from Worcester Bosch, Glow-Worm, Vaillant, Potterton, and many more.
Whatever make or type of Boiler you have, we will service it using a stringent procedure as per the manufacturer’s guidelines.
The Service Procedure
First of all, you need to book your Boiler service. Get in touch and book a time slot that works for you.
One of our engineers will arrive at your property at the agreed time, presenting their Gas Safe ID on arrival.
The exterior of the Boiler is visually checked for signs of leaking or corrosion.
Seals & Connections
The case is then removed for an inspection of the internal seals and connections.
The seals, valves and pipes are all checked for leaks, wear and tightness. Loose seals can be tightened or replaced if required.
All internal components are cleaned as part of the service. This also allows us to accurately test all the working components properly.
Pressure Testing
The Boiler pressure is tested to make sure it’s at the correct level. If the pressure is low, it’s set to the right level, the boilers then run. If the pressure maintains, all is good.
Dropping pressure is an indication of a leak or a blockage. In this case, we’ll investigate further.
The Gas Rate
The gas burners are cleaned and tested for pressure, then adjusted if necessary. The engineer will then run a gas rate check.
This test validates the right amount of gas is burned per hour. This ensures you’re not burning too much (wasting energy) or too little (inadequate for your Boiler)
The Flue
The flue is vital for correct ventilation and to expel all undesirable waste gases—flue gas analysers are placed inside the flue.
The boilers run so the engineer can measure the oxygen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.
This test validates that your Boiler and flues are safe and aren’t a carbon monoxide risk, with all noxious gases removed adequately.
The engineer will also make sure your Boilers are getting the correct amount of oxygen, which is 10 cubic meters of air for every cubic meter of gas.
Finally, the engineer will check inside and around the Boiler for leaking gas. After the service, you can rest assured that your Boilers is safe and efficient.
After The Service
Once the service is complete, our engineer will switch the Boiler on and check your radiators are heating up. He’ll bleed the radiators if necessary, so you get full heat in every room.
The engineer may offer some suggestions, so you get the most out of your central heating system. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.
A service record is written for you to keep as proof that your Boilers been serviced by a competent Gas Safe Registered engineer.

Common Boiler Issues
Never attempt to run a faulty Boiler. You could cause more damage and more expense. Always get a faulty Boiler looked at by a qualified engineer.
Incorrect Pressure
Boilers need a certain amount of pressure to run continuously if the pressure is too low, the Boiler will stop. The first step is to repressurise the Boiler and monitor the pressure as it’s running.
If the pressure stays level, then the Boiler only needs repressurising. If the pressure continues to drop, then there’s a leak or a blockage present.
Leaks
Leaks can occur from various locations inside the Boiler. Most commonly, leaks are caused by faulty valves or worn/loose seals.
Both can be replaced or tightened to stop the leaking and restore the correct pressure.
Other components, such as the pipes or heat exchanger, can spring leaks due to corrosion. Replacement is in order in this instance.
Blockages
Boilers and central heating systems produce limescale, which can become lodged in pipes and the heat exchanger.
If your Boilers is making a whistling sound like a kettle, then there’s a significant blockage in the heat exchanger. Get this issue seen to before the heat exchanger breaks.
At other times, limescale becomes lodged in pipes or the pump, preventing full flow and pressure. These blockages will need to be removed manually or with Powerflushing. Sometimes, blocked parts need replacing.
Faulty Thermocouple
The thermocouple is a safety device, a temperature sensor that controls the volume of gas getting to the Boiler. The thermocouple cuts the gas supply in the event the pilot lights blow out to prevent gas leaks.
If the thermocouple is faulty, it will continuously cut the gas off, stopping the Boiler from working. A quick thermocouple replacement is all that’s needed to get your Boiler running again.
Faulty Pump
All boilers utilise a pump. If the pumps fail or are blocked, then your Boiler won’t run. Faulty pumps are unblocked or replaced.
Frozen Pipes
Modern condensing Boilers remove wastewater via a condensate pipe, which, when uninsulated, can freeze in cold conditions.
Your Boiler won’t be capable of removing water so it won’t function. An engineer will defrost and insulate the pipe, so your Boiler works again, and you won’t suffer the same problems in the future.
